This cable works perfectly with my regular iPod (80GB). I just opened the package, plugged one side into the iPod, plugged the RCA connectors into the stereo's front input jacks, and viola! Good quality music from the iPod is playing perfectly through my stereo! Just as easy as you would expect. And the volume is being controlled by the stereo (and my remote) as stated in another comment.

I have an Ipod Classic and it works very well with this cable into my stereo. I much prefer this cable to the headphone jack to stereo set up.

Purchased this item to connect my iTouch 2nd generation to my home stereo (Onkyo). It does not work. On the packaging it tells you the models that it DOES work with, but they DO NOT tell you that on the Amazon product description. Save yourself the $17 and the frustration, go to a store and buy one.

I know it's been stated before, but I just wanted to add to the growing list of complaints about this product not actually being adaptable to all iPods. I ordered a 5th generation Nano hoping to play it through my home stereo system, only to find sound coming out of the tiny built in speaker. I searched in vain for an internal setting that would fix the problem, but after a brief online search I discovered that others were had this problem too. Next time I'll make sure to read the reviews *before* purchasing...
