Product Description
Taking (and listening to) music around with you is simpler than you think. It's a radio and MP3 WMA audio player. The Coby MP-305 is the size of a USB memory stick that you can just attach to your keychain. An easy to read backlit LCD display informs you with song titles and artists. When you're in the mood to listen to new songs or just want to hear the latest news, you can with the built-in FM Tuner. Since it is the shape of a USB stick all you would have to do to transfer songs into the player is by plugging it into the computer, no USB cables needed. For the price this makes a perfect gift for everyone you know. Coby doesn't restrict you from all the digital libraries on the Internet. You can download music from many. Convert your CD's into playlists. It's really simple with Microsoft Windows Media Audio. Music soothes and excites. With a capacity of about 200 songs, this feather-light player is just what you need for running, walking, lounging, or studying. Built-in FM Tuner Audio Output - 3.5mm Headphone USB connection Power - 1 x AAA Battery Battery Life - 8hr Approximate Unit Dimensions - 5.5(W) x 8(H) x 1.75(D)

4 out of 5 stars Good for what it is worth.   September 7, 2010
Andy Wolf (Wherever Adventure Takes Me)
I live a rather rough and tumble lifestyle, and I find that I go through expensive MP3 Players way too often. So, I looked for a cheap alternative, and I found it.
If you demand a large and organized library that will give you the exact song you want, find something else. This is more like a shuffle with a screen. But on another note, it doubles as a jump drive in a pinch. Also, it takes a regular battery, so its more convenient if you are stompin out in the woods.
DONT TRY IT, but its fairly water resistant.

When i was overseas about 4 yrs ago, these sold for $5. Good luck finding an Import for the same price.
It's no Ipod; but for the price, I could care less if it breaks.

3 out of 5 stars The right form factor, questionable execution   September 4, 2010
electronics_buyer212
For the last year, I've been pretty happy with the device. I use it exclusively for 'on the go podcast replay'. For this it's nearly perfect. Small, replaceable battery (I use rechargeables), adequate capacity sufficient to hold a week's worth of podcasts, remembers where you left off the last time.
After almost exactly a year of good daily service, the 'ON-OFF' switch has stopped working rendering the device useless for all intents and purposes. I'm a bit disappointed about that. Repair is pretty much out of the question, so I've ordered a new replacement.
I hope the new one lasts more than a year ! I'll keep the old one for use as a plain flash memory device...

1 out of 5 stars Stopped working   August 31, 2010
Linda
I bought this as a gift for my brother who lives out of town. I bought it in June and he only used it once before it stopped working. I am at his house now and tried to figure out what was wrong and it just isn't getting any power. Amazon now tells me I cannot get a refund. Very disappointed and now I can't get an exchange/refund and have nothing to show for it.

4 out of 5 stars Great Little mp3 player   August 26, 2010

I have had a few diffrent mp3's and this is a great little device because it gets the radio stations in very clear. It dosen't have many bells and whistles, but offers options such as changing the backround color and shuffle options, along with custom playlist. At 22 dollars this radio does the job if you just need to listen to mp3's or the radio this is a great option

3 out of 5 stars For those who'd like some quick music.   August 25, 2010
Albert Cheung (CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA, US)
For what it's worth, this thing served me well. It died after nine months of use, but throughout that time it did its job. I hear that Ipods die in a year. Well, based on this thing's shelf life it lasted almost that long.

If you're willing to burn off $30 as opposed to $55 for a product that has, on average, a notably shorter life, then go for it. It stores data even after it stops playing your files, and does its job within half a year of its purchase. It's not totally useless in the end, though you end up with a pricey 2GB flash drive.

So, it's up to you. Personally I wouldn't buy this again. But at least it doesn't end up totally useless like certain other products. This deserves three stars for not completely failing on this customer.
